1. Privacy at WUMM

The protection of personal data is important to WUMM GmbH. The public website is deliberately designed to minimise data processing and primarily provides information about WUMM and its services, while also serving as an entry point to separate specialist, service and portal offerings.

The public website does not create personal user profiles for advertising or marketing. Where individual services are provided through separate specialist applications or portals, those services are identified transparently.

3. Website access and technical logs

When the website is accessed, technically necessary connection data is processed between the visitor’s device and the web systems involved. This may include the IP address, time of access, requested page or resource, HTTP status and technical information about the connection and client used.

Access and error logs are maintained for technical operation. They are used to deliver the website, analyse errors and detect or defend against abusive or security-relevant access. These logs are not used for advertising, marketing profiles or personal audience measurement.

The processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure, stable and technically reliable provision of the website. Technical log data is retained only for as long as necessary for these purposes and for the applicable technical rotation and deletion processes.

4. No analytics or advertising tracking

The public WUMM website currently does not use systems for personal audience measurement or advertising tracking. In particular, Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking, Meta/Facebook pixels and comparable retargeting or marketing systems are currently not integrated.

If additional analytics or comparable functions are introduced in the future, this privacy notice will be updated accordingly. Where consent is required, such functions will not be activated without the required consent.

5. Data entry on the public website

The public information website is currently not intended to collect personal customer, contract, metering or payment data through WUMM’s own web forms. For certain services, WUMM directs users to separate specialist and service offerings or technically embeds a specialist application provided for that purpose.

This makes it clear which system provides a particular function and where personal information may be processed.

6. External specialist and service offerings

Firstcon

WUMM uses services provided by Firstcon for certain energy-market and contract-related functions. These may include electricity and gas tariff and ordering processes, meter reading submission, contract cancellation and withdrawal.

For directly linked Firstcon services, the browser connects to the target system only when the relevant link is opened. Where a Firstcon function is technically embedded in a WUMM page – in particular meter reading submission – a technical connection to Firstcon may already be established when the embedded function loads. The technical data required for that connection is then transmitted to the embedded system.

Further processing within the Firstcon specialist application is additionally subject to the privacy information provided there.

WUMM customer portal

A separate WUMM customer portal is available for energy-supply customer functions. Depending on the relevant functionality, it may provide contract, invoice, instalment, master-data and service functions.

The customer portal is technically and functionally separate from the public information website. Processing within the customer portal is subject to the privacy information provided there and the information applicable to the relevant contractual relationship.

Minoa – metering data and landlord portals

Separate Minoa portals are used for metering-point, metering-data and property-related functions: mieter.minoa.energy and vermieter.minoa.energy.

Under the current system design, the tenant portal provides the metering-point and metering-data functions intended for the relevant connection user. The landlord portal is intended for property- and district-related functions. These systems are separate from the WUMM customer portal.

The privacy information provided by those portals applies in addition when they are accessed.

7. External links

This website contains links to independent online services. The visitor’s browser establishes a connection to the relevant target site only when such a link is opened. Processing within the respective target system is subject to the privacy information provided there.

8. Technical operation

The website is operated on server infrastructure in Germany intended for web services.

WUMM may use contractually engaged IT service providers for setup, operation, maintenance, security and technical support. Within the existing technical operating structure, Atlantic Bridge Exchange Ltd is involved in technical services in particular.

Access to information takes place only to the extent required for the respective technical task. The statutory responsibility of WUMM GmbH remains unaffected.

9. Cookies and local storage

The public website is intended to use only cookies or comparable local storage mechanisms required for the relevant technical purpose. Advertising, profiling and marketing cookies are currently not used.

If functions requiring consent are introduced in the future, they will only be activated after the required consent has been obtained and the privacy information will be updated accordingly.

10. Retention

Personal data is processed or stored only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or for as long as statutory or contractual retention obligations apply. Technical web logs are subject to the rotation and deletion processes provided for secure operation.

Data processed within separate customer, metering-data, contract or specialist systems is subject to the applicable statutory, contractual and system-specific retention and deletion rules.

11. Your rights

Where personal data is processed and the statutory requirements are met, data subjects have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, data portability and withdrawal of consent with effect for the future.

Data subjects also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For a company established in Baden-Württemberg, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg is particularly relevant.

This privacy notice will be updated if website functions, external specialist applications, portal structures, analytics functions or other privacy-relevant processing activities change.
